The new Mercure Leeds Centre Hotel has opened bringing with it one of the city’s new restaurants, The Loom, which offers locally-sourced British classics with menu items including Craft Burgers, Pork and Apple Bangers and Traditional Caesar Salad. Guests can also enjoy a unique selection of wine, beer and expertly crafted cocktails.
Splendid Hospitality Group acquired the former New Ellington Hotel in the heart of the Leeds financial district in January 2016. The property has been completely refurbished with design inspired by the city’s tailoring heritage and Yorkshire’s textile industry, 59 bedrooms and The Loom restaurant.
Contemporary design and quirky features merge with Yorkshire textiles and collectibles reminiscent of a traditional tailor shop. The Loom serves locally-sourced modern British dishes, whilst The Loom bar has a retro feel and is ideal for after-work cocktails.
Mercure Leeds Centre is Splendid Hospitality’s third Accor property to open under the strengthening franchise partnership. Splendid Hospitality is one of the UK’s fastest growing privately-owned hotel groups, comprising of independent properties and major brands including Accor, Hilton and IHG.
Stuart Bailey, CEO Splendid Hospitality, says: “We are pleased to introduce a first-class and memorable accommodation option to business and leisure travellers to Leeds, and to offer a characterful restaurant and bar to the locals who live or work in the area.”
