Gearing up for another food extravaganza at Halifax Chow Down

The full list of vendors for this year’s Halifax Chow Down, the biggest Northern food festival, has been revealed, with award-winning burgers, ‘My Million Pound Menu’ stars and delicious doughnuts all on the line-up. The festival is returning to the iconic Piece Hall for three weekends this summer, kicking off with this weekend’s May Bank Holiday (24th-27th May 2019).


Halifax Chow Down confirmed vendors:

What’s Your Beef – finalists in the National Burger Awards, this burger-flinging duo deliver gourmet deliciousness around the North of England.

Oh My Glaze – a man with a pan serving wraps, wings and delicious things usually across the North West.

Blue Caribou – stars of My Million Pound Menu serving authentic Québec Canadian poutine with squeaky cheese curds and a dash of British style.

Churrasco Grill – one of Liverpool’s leading steakhouses serving sliders,steaks, mac ‘n’ cheese and more from their Little Rasco trailer.

Dapur Malaysia – beautiful Malaysian dishes inspired by flavours from mum’s kitchen.

Doh Hut – British St. Food Award Champions offering up their gourmet “dangerously delicious doughnuts.”

The Sausage Box – the greatest sausage street-food in Yorkshire, quality local produce with international flavours.

Tacoporium – fresh, vibrant and colourful soft shell tacos inspired by Mexico and beyond!

Caribbean Cafe – exotic flavours of the Caribbean featuring jerk chicken and vegan specials.

Frizza – Leeds’ first and only frizza specialists bring the original street food of Naples.

Frankies Wood Fired Pizza – Delicious wood fired pizza made to order.

Cargo Crepe – on a mission to serve delicious and authentic sweet & savoury crêpes.

Dim Sum Su – the finest, freshest Dim Sum food – steamed buns, spring rolls, savoury dumplings, plus a whole lot more…

Vaso Kitchen – Manchester-based, home cooked Indian Street Food specialists.

Fiesta Catering – Serving traditional Mexian and Tex-Mex from Friday The Mexican Soul Food Trailer.

Laynes – delivering the finest coffee by the best baristas.


With more than 120,000 punters coming down last year to enjoy wonderful summer weekends of independent food and drink stalls and pop-ups, live music and general, family-friendly fun, Chow Down at Halifax’s Piece Hall went down in history as the only place to be, for one weekend of every month throughout last summer. The plan can only be to get bigger and better for 2019!

Chow Down is also going on tour this year, taking over the impressive heritage site that is Lincoln Castle. After a belting Easter Weekender that saw 15,000 people descend into the grounds, an even bigger turn out is expected for the Summer Weekender, held from the 28-30th June.

So we thought it was only right to bring it back for 2019. We’re excited to be bringing new traders to the Piece Hall for the first time including What’s Your Beef and Tacoporium.
