Tharavadu announces Uyare: A new rooftop dining experience in Leeds

Tharavadu, the acclaimed South Indian restaurant in Leeds, has unveiled plans for the opening of its new venture, Uyare, which will be located in the heart of Leeds city centre at Victoria Gate. This new restaurant will aim to build on Tharavadu’s legacy by offering an elevated dining experience inspired by the vibrant flavours of Kerala.

Uyare will occupy a spacious 7,000 sq ft area, previously home to Issho, and will feature a rooftop setting with seating for up to 300 guests. The venue includes a 15-person private dining room and distinct areas such as Bhoomi – The Earth restaurant, and Agni – The Fire bar, making it a dynamic addition to Leeds’ culinary scene.

The menu at Uyare will showcase traditional Keralan dishes prepared with authentic techniques, delivering the bold flavours that Tharavadu is known for. The Agni bar will offer a curated selection of fine wines, champagnes, crafted cocktails, and local craft beers, with plans for exclusive themed nights to enhance Leeds nightlife.

Siby Jose, spokesperson for Tharavadu, expressed his excitement: “Opening Uyare in Leeds city centre is a significant milestone for us. It allows us to celebrate our roots and offer something unique to the people of Leeds. We are committed to staying local and being part of this vibrant community.”

Rachel Bradburn, Leasing Director at Victoria Leeds, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Tharavadu’s newest concept to Victoria Leeds. Independent, regional brands are crucial to our tenant mix, and Uyare will provide another quality dining option for our customers.”

With Uyare, Tharavadu continues to showcase the diversity of South Indian cuisine, offering both familiar comforts and new experiences in a stunning setting.
