Chocoholics in Scarborough should be prepared for seven days of total indulgence during National Chocolate Week at one of the town’s best-known chocolatiers.
Amelia’s Chocolate, whose retail outlet and workshop are in Victoria Road, is holding a number of events from 9th to 15th October celebrating the nation’s favourite sweet treat.
Amelia said: “National Chocolate Week is always a busy week for us and chocolatiers around the country will be showing off their wares!”
Amelia, who started her business from her kitchen table back in 2011, underwent a life-saving heart transplant at Great Ormond Street Hospital aged just 15 back in 2002, following the news that she had Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Amelia said: “The heart transplant saved my life; it really was a gift of life.”

Amelia opened her popular chocolate shop in the seaside town in 2013 and is one of Scarborough’s most best-known businesses.
Amelia added: “All our chocolate is made with love, care and passion. For National Chocolate Week, we have a packed week planned, including a Chocolate Baking Contest, Hot Chocolate sessions, a Chocolate Quiz Night, a chance to taste chocolate from around the word, and there’s even a Chocolate and Beer Tasting Night!”
