New contemporary Persian restaurant Biya2 opens in Leeds

Biya2, the latest restaurant to arrive in Leeds, is bringing bold Mediterranean flavours and the rich tradition of Persian grilling to the city’s dining scene.

Opening its doors today (August 21), Biya2 offers a unique blend of traditional Persian and Mediterranean dishes all reimagined with a contemporary twist.

The restaurant, which has taken up the 730 sq ft former TGI Fridays unit on Wellington Bridge Street, boasts seating for up to 200 covers in a custom-designed interior that blends modern and industrial elements with traditional Persian décor.

Brought to life by interior designer Paul Scholfield, the venue is a feast for the eyes. A statement open bar is framed with handcrafted canvases of Iran and warm, earthy tones throughout are accented by gold detailing and soft lighting complementing the bespoke banquette seating and reclaimed wood tables.

When it comes to the food Biya2 is a true celebration of authentic, handcrafted cuisine all served with warm, unforgettable hospitality. From sizzling skewers and succulent grilled meats to vibrant mezze and freshly prepared, flavour-packed salads, everything on the menu is inspired by personal heritage and regional flavours, and wherever possible uses locally sourced and seasonal ingredients.

Guests can also enjoy live entertainment, themed nights, and one-of-a-kind events, creating the perfect setting for gatherings, celebrations or an evening out with a difference.

Biya2 is part of The Capri Group, which boasts a portfolio of five restaurants across West Yorkshire. The concept for Biya2 is the creation of hospitality entrepreneur Toraj Dizchi, who has more than 40 years’ experience in the food and drink industry.

His first venture, the much-loved Soosi in Roundhay, North Leeds, built a loyal following for its bold flavours and authentic grills, and now with Biya2 Dizchi is evolving his vision to offer a more refined dining experience while preserving the warmth and authenticity that made Soosi so popular.

Commenting on the launch of Biya2, Dizchi said: “At Biya2 our aim is to create more than just a meal. We want every guest to experience authentic flavours, handcrafted cuisine, and hospitality that comes from the heart.

“We believe we’ve created a unique concept for Leeds and a dining experience that is built on tradition with a bit of extra flair, which will leave customers well entertained and well fed!”

Biya2 is open Monday – Sunday from 12pm-10pm. The restaurant is marking its launch day with a special buffet menu priced at £30 per person, a free welcome drink and entertainment form 7.30pm-late. To make a booking visit www.togolinks.co.uk/biya2/.
