This July, Leeds’ iconic Tetley building will play host to Rolling Social Events’ first ever Leeds Tequila Festival.
Rolling Social Events is the mastermind behind Leeds Rum Festival, Leeds Whisky Festival and a whole range of spirit-based events in the North of England. This summer the events company will showcase tequila for the first time.
Following the launch of the inaugural Leeds Whisky Festival back in April, a number of its ‘sip along’ events, and collaborations with local suppliers and producers as part of Leeds Indie Food Festival, Rolling Social Events is having an incredibly busy year so far. Rolling Social is cementing itself as an events company that takes pride not only in showcasing the best in spirits, but also shining a spotlight on spirit education.
The festival will take over the historic Tetley building on the evening of Friday 22nd July. The former brewery, now a contemporary art and events space, has been the venue of choice for a number of Rolling Social’s successful events in recent years. Ambassadors, makers and creators from numerous renowned Tequila distilleries will descend upon The Tetley – brands will include Monin Syrups, Tequila Ocho, Patron, Arette, Fortaleza to name a few.

As a real coup for the festival, the renowned Tequila Ocho will be sponsoring. Tequila Ocho is the world’s first Single Estate tequila; the brainchild of fifth generation Master Distiller Carlos Camarena and The Official Tequila Ambassador to Europe, Tomas Estes. Created to showcase ‘terroir’ in tequila, Ocho only harvests the ripest agaves from single fields, and allows the necessary time in production to ensure the best outcome from field to glass.
A ticket to Leeds Tequila Festival will not only provide access to the event, where there will be over 50 different agave products on show, including tequila, mezcal and other Mexican spirits. The Tetley’s fully stocked bar will also be available for anyone wanting to try a range of Tequila-based cocktails, alongside local craft beers and wine.
Further fun on the night will take place at the Tequila Ocho and Monin Margarita Bar which will offer attendees the opportunity to play with different flavours and create their own style of margarita! And as is tradition with a Rolling Social festival, a series of interactive discussions and masterclasses about all things agave will take place throughout the evening. DJs and further live performances will also be on display to keep punters entertained throughout the course of proceedings.
The perfect accompaniment to your tequila will come in the form of a range of tacos from Leeds’ very own traditional Mexican joint Neon Cactus with both vegetarian and vegan alternatives available.

Clare Morrow, Ocho Brand Manager, says: “We are so excited to be sponsoring Leeds’ first Tequila festival. There has been huge growth in interest and consumer knowledge in agave products over the past couple of years, and there’s never been a more exciting time to share what makes Tequila and Ocho so special. Leeds Tequila Festival will be a great opportunity to share Ocho with people neat, but also showcase its versatility in cocktails, where the authentic agave flavour shines through.”
Lee Jones, Rolling Social Events, says: “We’ve done rum, we’ve done whisky, we’ve done gin…tequila was the next logical step! Whether you have just discovered the world of agave or simply enjoy a delicious margarita, there will be something for all levels of interest at our first ever Leeds Tequila Festival at The Tetley this July.”
Tickets for Leeds Tequila Festival are available now from £30 at eventbrite.co.uk.
