With Simon Turner taking over as Head Chef following a four-year tenure at The Reliance, Arts is maintaining its existing commitment to a British bistro-style menu, while at the same time making provenance and quality its priorities.
Simon Turner said: “I don’t so much want to change Arts, in fact I’d just like to evolve Arts, with the ethics of trying to use seasonal, sustainable and local produce to recreate global cuisine with an emphasis on flavour and quality.”
The new menu is available from today (Friday 28th June) and includes both Set Menu and A La Carte options.
Casual dining takes priority at lunchtime, with the likes of Sandwiches, Salads and Plates (such as the Mediterranean Plate, featuring Arts’ Merguez sausage or halloumi, bulgur wheat, labneh, harissa, dukkah and flatbread), while the Set Lunch has a two course option for a very reasonable £15, or three courses for £19.
Dinner offers A La Carte and Set Menu options, set at two courses for £17 and three for £21. The A La Carte menu includes starters like Queen Scallops, Avocado, Quinoa and Tiger’s Milk, or Crispy Pig’s Cheek Croquette, Beetroot & Smoked Apple. Mains include Gloucester Old Spot Pork Ribeye, Hispi Cabbage, Summer Savoury & Peach, and Confit Duck, Bermondsey Sobrasada, Peas & Baby Gem.
There are plenty of exciting vegetarian and vegan options throughout the menu too. The priority here is fabulous flavour, with respect for local sourcing and quality, whatever the ingredient.
