This August Bank Holiday weekend marks 18 amazing weeks of Eat North 2018!Ahead of its final few Saturdays, Eat North is proud to announce additional weeks leading up to a second Vegan North on Saturday 8th September, and a big Eat North Closing Party on Saturday 15th September.
This weekly street food event, presented by Leeds Indie Food, hosts a rotating line-up of street food traders every Saturday from midday onwards. Independent traders arrive at North Brewing Co., to showcase great food, accompanied by award-winning craft beer from the onsite brewery, as well as cocktails, coffee, soft drinks, outdoor games and DJs. The event is family-friendly and dog-friendly.
This summer has seen more visitors make their way to Eat North than ever before, and we’ve also hosted a Leeds Indie Food 2018 special, monthly Veg Norths and the first ever Vegan North (with eight traders serving up plenty of vegan-friendly, plant-based delights).
Coming up? Two Leeds Beer Week 2018 specials (where traders’ dishes will incorporate, or pair with, interesting beers), another Vegan North, and the second annual Eat North collaboration with skateboard magazine, VAGUE.
Eat North is a go-to event for anyone curious to sample new dishes. During the summer, the street food event has served everything from Nasi Lemak’s vegan fried chicken to Nyama Choma’s n’gombe; MorMor’s harissa and sumac cauliflower ‘wings’ to pork and dried shrimp banh mi from Street Cleaver; Delice D’Ivoire’s yam ragout to naan nachos from Ruby’s Street Kitchen; chana masala kati rolls from Vaso Kitchen to Pietanic’s bacon and cheese burger pies…and so much more!
Traders making their Leeds debut have included The Sghetti Monster (elevating humble pasta dishes to new heights), Döner Summer (purveyors of vegan döner kebabs), Dabba Wala Yorkshire (vegan Indian street cuisine) and Stevie’s Pizza (bringing Panuozzo to Leeds!)
It’s not been solely about food though – 18 weeks at Eat North has also seen North Brewing Co. launch a new beer exclusively at the Saturday event, and we’ve hosted everything from outdoor beer yoga to screening the England vs. Sweden World Cup game.
