Fearns in Leeds to celebrate Yorkshire Day with free beer giveaway

Leeds Dock’s kitchen, bar, and event space, Fearns, is collaborating with Kirkstall Brewery to mark Yorkshire Day. They’re offering 50 complimentary pints of their best-selling beer, Virtuous.

On Thursday 1st August, starting at 4pm, visitors can relish a complimentary pint on a first-come, first-served basis (one per customer) at Fearns, located at 4 The Boulevard, Leeds Dock. The available pint will be the acclaimed Virtuous Session IPA from Kirkstall, which has an ABV of 4.5%, alongside an option for an alcohol-free variant.

In celebration of the occasion, Fearns has announced a Yorkshire Day prize draw. Every visitor who claims their complimentary pint will be entered into a draw to win an exclusive tour of the Leeds-based Kirkstall Brewery.

Fearns currently offers Kirkstall’s Virtuous and Veltin’s Pilsner, along with a rotating selection of Kirkstall’s seasonal brews like the Low Alcohol Virtuous at 0.5% ABV, and Flamango, a 3.4% hazy pale ale enriched with over 200 litres of mango puree per batch.

General Manager at Fearns, Ollie Ireland, said: “We’re all about celebrating the very best of Yorkshire, whether that’s the finest local produce and seasonal ingredients, as well as suppliers and incredible businesses right on our doorstep. Partnering with Kirkstall is a natural fit for us, not just for Yorkshire Day but on an ongoing basis as we continue to stock their fantastic beer.”

Chris Hall, Brand Manager at Kirkstall Brewery added: “It’s great to work with venues like Fearns, who appreciate the value of Yorkshire producers. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a fresh pint of local beer, and we’re delighted to have our award-winning flagship beer Virtuous feature as part of their Yorkshire Day celebrations.”

A little more than a year after its opening in May 2023, the dog-friendly establishment, named after an islet in the Leeds Dock waterways, has undergone significant upgrades. These include the addition of a brand-new outdoor terrace and enhancements to the indoor drinking area.

Open seven days a week, Fearns is situated in the same premises as Department, a co-working space on The Boulevard. It offers breakfast, innovative takes on traditional lunch items, and Sunday dinners that are becoming a hit, complete with vegetarian and vegan choices. Fearns prides itself on its expertly brewed coffee and features an exclusive cocktail list, including an extensive selection of low-alcohol and alcohol-free cocktails, mocktails, and beers.

The seasonal menus crafted by Jade Crawley, the former head chef at Eat Your Greens and The Tetley Bar and Kitchen, celebrate all things Yorkshire featuring ‘good food, good mood and bloody good Marys’ with sustainable processes and local produce at the forefront.
