Yorkshire business brings back Wagyu beef to Aldi stores across the UK

Yorkshire-based Warrendale Wagyu will supply Aldi stores with its unique range of British Wagyu steaks, as part of a new Specialbuy, available in stores soon. 

Warrendale Wagyu, based near Pocklington, will supply the beef for four Wagyu steak cuts to Aldi stores across the UK. The range of Specially Selected Wagyu steaks include sirloin steak (£6.49), rump steak (£5.99), ribeye steak (£6.99) and fillet steak (£7.49). And as with all Specialbuys, customers will have to be quick, as once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Wagyu beef, which originates from Japan, has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its intensely rich flavour and the tender texture provided by the unique fat marbling in the meat. The cut also offers a range of health benefits due to its high levels of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids.

Warrendale Farms is the largest producer of British Wagyu beef, with more than 4,000 animals across its main site and 125 partner farms around the UK. All the animals enjoy great quality living conditions and all the meat provided to Aldi is Red Tractor Farm Assured.

Warrendale Farms, which was founded by husband and wife duo, Jim and Rachel Bloom, more than 30 years ago, has also invested heavily to reduce the environmental footprint of its operations, including using energy from wind turbines and solar panels, as well as biomass heating.
