Rudding Park, which unveiled its spectacular new spa in May, is delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious, annual White Rose Awards. The largest celebration of tourism excellence in the UK, the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards recognise the very best of the industry throughout the county. Rudding Park is one of seven leading hotels shortlisted in the Large Hotel of the Year category.
The White Rose Awards has a rigorous and independent judging process. The 2017 judging panel is chaired by Colin Mellors, Pro-Vice Chancellor of York University and also includes Elaine Lemm, Food Writer, James Michinson, Yorkshire Post Editor and customer experience expert Mark Bradley. After painstakingly drawing up a shortlist for each of the categories, specialist companies undertake six weeks of mystery shopping to help the judging panel reach their final decisions. Later in the year, a thousand guests will attend a glamorous award ceremony when the winners and runners up will be announced.
A privately-owned luxury hotel, Rudding Park has 90 contemporary bedrooms, two restaurants, a kitchen garden, private cinema, two golf courses and conference and events space. Set in 300 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland. Rudding Park Spa, which celebrated a highly anticipated opening in May this year, has introduced a leading destination spa to Yorkshire, re-capturing Harrogate’s spa town heritage by drawing natural waters from the grounds of Rudding Park and creating a new spa journey for all.
Featuring the UK’s first Roof Top Spa and Garden complete with Hydrotherapy Infinity Pool and Panoramic Sauna, the sensational spa also features an indoor swimming pool using natural waters from the grounds of Rudding Park, a Juniper Log Sauna, Rasul for traditional Moorish mud treatments, a Manicure, Pedicure and Makeup Bar, Hair Studio, ‘Retail Therapy’ which is a must visit for a selection of home, travel and gift items, as well as four immersive sensory zones to enhance wellness of mind, body and soul. The Rudding Park Spa journey is heightened by kitchen garden cuisine at Horto, offering healthy à la carte dishes by day and a tasting menu by night.
Peter Banks, Managing Director of Rudding Park, commented: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award, especially as the recognition is based on the judging panel’s personal experience. We are immensely proud of the launch of our new destination spa, which opened in May and the generation of 50 jobs in the local area and we remain wholly committed to supporting Yorkshire as a leading tourism destination”.
