For World Vegan Month, two of Leeds’ most innovative food companies have joined forces to give a ‘meatless makeover’ to the nation’s favourite curry dish, the Rogan Josh.
Meatless Farm, the UK’s fastest growing plant-based brand and Rola Wala, the UK’s number one fresh-casual Indian street food brand, have created the limited edition ‘Meatless Farm Meatball’, available to order online via Deliveroo for £6.75.
The dish uses Meatless Farm’s popular plant-based mince to create juicy meat(less) balls. Rola Wala has swapped out the high-calorie meat, cream and butter for a lighter, 100% plant-based curry with 535 calories per serve.
The limited-edition dish will be available in either a naan roll, rice bowl, or low carb cauli bowl for the carb conscious – all bursting with fresh and spicy flavours Rola Wala have become famous for. This plant-based twist comes at a time when more Brits than ever are reducing their meat intake, driven by an increased concern for the environment and health. Research from Meatless Farm shows that over a third of Yorkshire and Humber residents believe that they should have the option to ‘go meatless’ on every menu item.
Moreover, a third are cutting down on meat to better their impact on the environment, alongside recycling and reducing plastic usage.
To celebrate the launch of the new Meatless Farm Meatball Rogan Josh, those who sign up on www.rolawala.com/meatlessmakeover will be in for a chance to win one of five ‘make at home’ recipe kits featuring the dish, with all entrants receiving 25% off the dish in store in November, swapping out the meat has never been easier.
